The Maine Medical Center Emergency Medicine Residency Program is Accepting Applications to join our PGY-2 class starting in July (Class of 2022)
The Maine Medical Center (MMC) residency program is a 3 year program with 10 residents per year. Our program embodies the idea that residents do not need to choose between a “community” program where they receive outstanding clinical training and an “academic” program where research, publication and fellowship acceptance are valued. We aim to fulfill these missions and have an excellent track record of doing so. MMC has a unique learning environment with our primary site serving as the state’s only Level 1 Trauma Center and academic hospital, while also serving as the primary community hospital for Maine’s largest city. Our residents are proud that they are able to do numerous procedures in an unopposed fashion because an absence of many subspecialty residencies and fellowships (orthopedics, ophthalmology, ENT). MMC is located in Portland, Maine, which is a smaller sized city on the ocean with easy access to outdoor activities, great quality of life for families and a thriving food scene.
