We have been continuously accredited since 1969. The Program trains 10 residents/year. It iS based in WMC, a referral and transfer center of over 600 beds with a catchment area of over 3.5 million. A new ambulatory care pavilion with 10 new ORs will open in May 2019. We are located just north of NYC where many of our Faculty and residents live. We are a Level 1 Trauma Center and a Burn Center and a leader in tele-medicine, including tele_ICU. A Children's Hospital provides our residents with an excellent pediatric caseload. We perform solid organ transplantation and a high volume of neurointerventional cases. Our ACGME-accredited new Cardiac Anesthesia fellowship is recruiting for July 2019. The Regional Anesthesia fellowship is two years old. We perform approximately 3500 blocks/year, including all advanced truncal blocks. The clinical experience at WMC is very varied and of high complexity. We train excellent clinicians; every year, half of the graduates pursue fellowship training and one of more of our graduates join the ranks of the program's Faculty. We have high standards and are very invested in our residents' success. Mentoring and support is our daily focus. Board pass rate is excellent. NYMC shares our campus; residents teach medical students and participate in specialty exploration activities.
