NYU Langone Medical Center Volunteer Research Fellow
Dr. Diane Simeone is the Director of Pancreatic Cancer Center and Associate Director of Perlmutter Cancer Center of NYU Langone Medical Center, one of the top surgical research institutions in the US. We are one of the best laboratories nationwide performing basic and translational research in pancreatic cancer. Dr. Simeone’s lab is seeking two Volunteer Research Fellows to work on pancreatic cancer. Individuals seeking to boost their credentials in preparation for residency application are encouraged to apply. This is a non-paid full-time volunteer position. A commitment of 1 year is necessary. The Research Fellow will train under the mentorship of Dr. Simeone in the Division of General Surgery, Department of Surgery. Applicants should have an M.D. and/or Ph.D. degree. Previous basic science research experience is an asset but not essential. Strong communication skills (verbal and written) are desired. Volunteer research fellows will be involved in all aspects of research, including experiment design, data acquisition, analysis, and submissions for abstract and manuscript publication. Volunteer research fellows are encouraged to attend weekly multidisciplinary pancreatic tumor board discussion in Perlmutter Cancer Center.
