Valley Children's Hospital -Pediatrics PGY-2 Categorical Resident Position

February 21, 2019

Valley Children’s Pediatric Residency Program seeks a categorical pediatric resident for a PGY2 position starting July 1, 2019.  We are a new program graduating our first class in 2020.  Our program trains pediatricians to be excellent advocates for children and physician-leaders. We offer a unique opportunity to mold a program and develop individualized curricula in a family-oriented atmosphere. Mentors and coaches aid in resident development. Our residents have published and/or presented case reports, abstracts, and clinical research. Valley Children’s Hospital is a free-standing tertiary care children’s hospital that serves 1.3 million children in the Central Valley of California providing a thriving learning environment on busy inpatient, level IV NICU, and PICU rotations. Electives offer an individualized teaching experience working one-on-one with attendings. Our Work-Life Balance stipend offers reimbursement for gym membership and educational activities such as attending a meeting to present research. PGY2 call schedule consists primarily of night float rotations serving as a senior resident with another PGY2 or PGY3 and 2 PGY1s.
